Bare maxxwell and maxxwell fleet are different surfaces:
  • maxxwell opens an interactive agent conversation.
  • maxxwell fleet reads an existing local fleet without writing its records.

One-shot reads

Both work without a TTY, so they can be used in scripts and CI. They read the fleet’s authoritative scope, then only the scoped lanes/<lane>.json records. A missing record stays in the output with unknown values and a diagnostic; stale manifests outside the scope are not shown.

The fleet surface is read-only. Use bare maxxwell for an interactive agent conversation.

The bare command

Bare maxxwell opens an interactive session in the current directory. It does not open the fleet reader and does not ask you to choose a default surface.
Run maxxwell --help for commands and flags supported by your installed build.
